Charles Phelps

Co-Founder · Design & Front-End Development

I’m Charles. I design and build the parts of your website that customers see and use. I spend a lot of my time working with CSS and responsive design: getting the layout, spacing, and navigation to work well on a phone as well as a desktop.

I also worked on web development projects during a professional summer internship at TransPerfect. At JCPX, I work directly with you to understand your business and figure out how the site should look and work. I care about the details, but the first question is always whether a customer can find what they need.

Server Operations & Finance

I’m John. I look after the servers that keep your website online and up to date, and I handle JCPX’s finances. I also help answer your questions. I want you to feel comfortable asking how something works and to get a useful answer quickly.

I’ve loved coding since I was 10. I enjoy figuring out why something isn’t working and finding a way to fix it. JCPX gives me a chance to use that interest to build something of our own, and I take the responsibility of looking after someone else’s website seriously.

Why we started JCPX

We want to build a business we’re proud of.

We wanted to turn something we enjoy into work for real businesses. A local business puts a lot of care into what it does; we think its website should show that same care.

We’re building our reputation through the work itself: explaining what we can do, agreeing on the cost, and building what we’ve discussed. You’ll talk to the same two people who are doing the work.

Whether this is your first website or one you’ve wanted to update for a while, you don’t need a finished brief to start a conversation.
